Overview
Adobe Firefly is Adobe's generative AI platform, designed from the ground up for commercial safety. Unlike competitors trained on scraped web images, Firefly is trained exclusively on Adobe Stock images, openly licensed content, and public domain materials, making it safe for commercial use without copyright concerns.
Firefly is deeply integrated into Adobe's Creative Cloud applications. In Photoshop, Generative Fill allows users to add, remove, or modify image elements with natural language prompts. In Illustrator, Firefly can generate vectors. In Express, it powers template customization.
The platform excels at practical commercial tasks: product photography backgrounds, marketing asset variations, and design iterations. While it may not match Midjourney's artistic flair, its focus on commercial safety and workflow integration makes it essential for professional creative teams.
