This project is largely inspired by a phrase used by Mark Cuban about his time in the late 90s selling computer software for a store in Dallas. That phrase is “Read the frickin’ manual”, RTFM. Cuban wasn’t successful selling software because he had unique knowledge of it or any for that matter, but because he read every manual on the software they offered and applied that knowledge. Here’s the clip from Mark’s blog:
I intend to copy that same principle to Superprompt. AI is the biggest thing in tech at least since the launch of the iPhone, maybe even since the advent of the internet itself. As someone who’s technology savvy in my early 20s, this presents a unique opportunity. If I dedicate myself to learning the ins and outs of every major AI model that’s released I’ll develop an skillset and a wealth of knowledge that will make me valuable and highly employable to businesses looking for someone with knowledge of these models. AI is going to revolutionize work, and it seems the only way to hedge yourself against that revolution, especially as someone graduating college and entering the workforce now, is to immerse yourself in it.
As for my credentials I don’t have many, I’m 22 and about to finish my Undergrad in Advertising. On the side I’ve been buying and selling domain names as a way of sustaining myself through college, and I’ve had a record year buying and selling names around the AI wave. I’ve saved enough to where I can afford focus all my time and energy on building around AI and still be comfortable for a while, so that’s what I intend to do. I’m young, I’m hungry, I’m smart, I’m curious, and I’m going to immerse myself in this trend and see if I can’t find an opportunity to build something that people find value in.
Superprompt.com is going to be the place I share my thoughts on AI, guides, media, tools I build, and things to that effect. This wave is so new that I think it’s best that I just leave the mission nebulous and seize on whatever opportunities I see or whatever interests me.
